I bought this because I wanted a tennis table out on the lanai (outside) that I could take down easy. I set this up on an oval table that is shorter than the ping pong table by at least ten inches on each side. I was pleasantly suprised the surface remained flat and stable. I bought some extra paddles just in case the included ones were no good. The included ones were noticably lighter, but I cannot determine which ones I like better, thus the included paddles are fine. I did use some seperately purchased balls for some reason, and the action/bounce on the surface is quite decent. The surface is more of a hard plastic feel, rather than partical board of most standard tables. I was expecting to purchase a seperate net, but the way the net is designed to attached and stay taught is pretty good. It is two narrow for doubles, but the perfect width for a decent game. We had fun on Christmas, old and young alike. The only words of caution I would mention are: it's heavy- I wouldn't want a child under 13 attempting to set it up. Hindges are on the edges. I hope they last. In my case, where the surface is bigger than the supporting table, I have to make sure no one leans on it.
